Fellow Baltimore Business Owner,

As spring falls upon us, where will you spend most of your time? Will you be out enjoying the weather, or will you be trapped in the office in boring meetings all day?

Are you ready to put parts of your business on autopilot? I want to help you make the most of your time, so you can enjoy the sunshine instead of agonizing under the buzz of your fluorescent lights. Just think of all the things you could do with your time…. things you’ve wanted to do for years, like play golf or spend time at the beach.

It’s time to put the cash-generating power of the Internet to work for your company. Are you ready to open your business up to a whole new world of prospects and revenue streams?

This is a long letter, but it could mean millions of dollars to your business.

If you really don’t have time to read this go to www.mimsin.com/AudioLetter to listen to a recording instead. Let me talk to you in the background while you do other things.

Let me assure you this letter is not about creating some web graphics or pumping money into online advertising. It’s about building a massive web presence with the power to pull in customers from all over the world like a magnet. Yes this works even if you’re a specialized local retailer or service business.

I know you’re busy and your time is extremely valuable, but please give me just fifteen minutes to radically change how you do business through the Internet. You are doing business through the Internet, right? If not, then you really can’t afford to stop reading.

Is the Internet costing you money, or are you profiting substantially from it?  Are you proud of the overall web presence you’ve established?

To compete in today’s market you must effectively harness the power of the Internet. If you can’t do this, you’ll be many steps behind your competition. It’s more than money lost, it’s also an advantage to your competitors.

Quite frankly, it’s something that could put you out of business in the long run. Are you ready to let internet savvy newcomers put you out of business just because they have more Internet experience than you do? The Internet can be a challenge, but with my help it’s an undertaking you can win and profit from dramatically.

In this letter I’m going to tell you how to get the education you need to effectively promote your business on the internet for FREE, plus you’ll find out how to get the expert help you need to massively rev up your Internet presence. Don’t get left behind! I can teach you what you must know to grow over the Internet, or I can take the burden off you entirely and just give you results.

Let me make an important clarification. I’m not talking about merely using the web as a billboard to slap your brand on. As you may know, you can put up the best web site ever, but it won’t matter if no one ever visits it. Visitors do not appear by some ancient voodoo like most new web site owners seem to expect.

When you do get visitors are you capturing leads to the fullest extent possible and then converting them into sales? Do visitors go right to your money links or do you leave them floundering? Do you even have money links in the first place? Don’t worry. I can guide you through all of this, assuring you achieve the best bottom-line results possible.

Who the Heck am I?

My name is Jeffrey Mims and I’m an entrepreneur and business owner just like you. Since the earliest days of the World Wide Web (the early 1990s) I’ve been helping businesses achieve Internet, Intranet, and Extranet presence. I’ve worked as a consultant for companies of all types and sizes, from high tech startups to the Fortune 500.

I have experience in a myriad of industries both as a consultant and as a business owner. I have several of my own successful web sites and I’ve helped many local businesses with the same process.

I’ve even helped local service businesses that cannot serve customers out of the immediate area grow using the internet. My clients have found that the advertising programs I manage cost less than ¼th what the phone book companies are charging and are twice as effective.

How important is it really? Can it be that difficult?

The Answers Appear on Page 5

  1. What is a Squeeze Page?
    1. Think of one good reason to use them
    2. Think of one good reason not to use them

  1. What does CPA stand for? Hint: I’m not talking about a Certified Public Accountant.

  1. True or False: You can buy massive traffic from Google cheaply with a Pay Per Click campaign.

  1. What is the number one way to get organic search results on Google right now?

  1. What is the current best strategy for achieving massive traffic on your site over time without paying a nickel in advertising?

Generating targeted traffic and converting prospects is a complex process, and I’d like to tell you there’s a secret magic formula, but there is no such formula. If there was, it would change as soon as someone figured it out. The avenues you utilize to generate traffic and convert traffic to sales are going to vary based on your specific industry and type of business.

I can tell you that copying what your competitors are doing is potentially a huge mistake.

Often I hear people object that their business is different. It’s a local retail establishment or a service business. Perhaps it’s something like a cemetery sales that requires a very special touch. I agree that your business is different enough that you need highly personalized help.

However, no matter what type of business you’re in, it can absolutely benefit from solid Internet presence. It’s not difficult to geographically target traffic so you don’t pay for customers who could never buy from you. The Internet is not just a global media. It’s an extremely powerful local one as well.

Internet advertising revenue alone in 2007 was estimated by IDC at over $25.5 billion dollars. Make no mistake, there’s huge money out there if you can identify the market, generate the traffic, and convert the sales. But if you miss any of these steps you’re wasting time and money.

Competition in Internet advertising is teeming right now. The pot is boiling over and that means you could end up paying exorbitant advertising rates for little to no results. There are advertisers paying up to $100 for each time a person clicks an advertisement leading to their web site!

Keep reading and I’ll give you a simple example of how a novice can quickly flush away thousands of dollars on Google AdWords for little effect. I’ll share the simple secret to make your ad campaigns more effective and cost far less.

Generally small business owners either feel clueless and scared of the present online world, or they think they understand everything they need to do. Both of these are dangerous ways to think in today’s business world.

I’ve made the mistake of thinking I understood what I needed to do as a business to leverage the power of the Internet. I had deep technical skills and was in touch with the state of the web, but at the time I didn’t have the marketing knowledge I needed to really know what I should be doing. I only knew what was possible.

Luckily for you, I’ve made the costly mistakes so you can avoid them.

I’ve been working on web sites for other businesses and organizations since around 1994. Typically they called me when the web application got too complex for other people to build. My sites didn’t just sell products, they ran commodity exchanges, operated multi-billion dollar warehouses, granted secure external access into sensitive systems, and captured a variety of key consumer information such as political surveys and employment applications.

I started my first business web site around 1994, and like many people, I couldn’t understand why no one visited it. Well things have changed a ton since then, but one thing hasn’t. Better web design is not the answer. Better traffic generation is the solution.

I started my first official online storefront selling electronic products in the information technology industry. Within a month of having our store up, the manufacturer of our key products cut off our distributor status.

Apparently the discounts we offered through our store crippled the manufacturer in their negotiation of a federal GSA contract. Oops? Suffice it to say they were less than pleased with us. Our prices were lower than the proposed prices for the federal contract and the feds had found that out.

Suddenly we had a store that was getting orders and we couldn’t fulfill the product. That was just the first of about a dozen nightmares. Just when you think you know everything that can go wrong, you find something new.

Wouldn’t you prefer to have real experience behind you to guide you away from those pitfalls instead of learning the hard way like I did?

On the other hand, you can’t be scared of the web. Suddenly we live in a world where literally anyone can reach millions and millions of buyers across the globe from the comfort of home. Why not take advantage of that? Even if you have a small, local shop or service industry, you can benefit from the power of the internet.

Customers today don’t pick up telephone books like they once did. They pull up their web browser and Google local businesses, just like they do for other information. It doesn’t matter what your business is, you can expand using the Internet. But it has to be done right, or you risk wasting valuable resources.

Look, the Internet is not an easy place to do business despite claims by those wishing to sell you their conquer-all product. Potential customers are totally unforgiving.

You have merely seconds to grab customers’ attention before they click you off.

As you probably know yourself, scammers and spammers have made the job of legitimate businesses operating online very difficult by frustrating consumers and adding the perception of significant risk to shopping online. Just think of all the banner ads and pop-ups you’ve seen.

How much faith do you have in Internet products? How many emails have you gotten trying to sell you counterfeit Viagra or other unmentionable things?

I’m not going to blow smoke or sunshine at you. Any new business is a difficult journey. Am I going to make you a web site that turns you into an instant Internet millionaire? No, of course not. Is it possible? Not instantly but over time yes, it’s absolutely possible with a lot of additional work on your part.

I’m going to give it to you straight here. You can easily flush thousands of dollars per day down the toilet if you do things wrong on the Web. I would know. I’ve done it. We all need to make some mistakes before we find formulas that work.

Here’s a piece of good news. You can very easily track the origins of your visitors and customers when operating over the Internet in order to make much more efficient use of your time and money. By tracking visitors you obtain specific metrics and can understand exactly what’s working. You can test the whole process and create an optimized plan that works for your business.

Why spend the time and money failing when you can harness proven formulas? If I can prevent you from making just one of the huge mistakes I made when creating some of my own sites, it will save you countless hours and many thousands of dollars. I’ve taken the risks with my own projects and money and as a result developed conservative plans to make the most of every dollar spent for my clients.

If you think you could just go out and buy a Web for Dummies book and do well, then you should reconsider. The landscape of the Internet changes constantly. In fact, a simple decision in a tiny meeting room at Google headquarters can totally change how you do business on the web, and could utterly crush even a highly profitable web site if you don’t have professional guidance to handle the situation immediately.

The worst part is, you’d never know until it’s too late. Besides, when it comes to things like Social Media and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) the books are typically outdated almost as soon as they are in final print form.

You need to be connected with the industry experts. I’m not going to tell you I’m the all-knowing expert. Things have changed dramatically since the pre-Google age.

The reality is I now rely on a vast network of highly successful Internet Marketers and Developers to see the whole picture. It’s just too massive for any one person to fully grasp without tons of help. Regardless of your industry, you need a broad array of help to succeed online.

To get into these elite groups you need to put up big money and know the industry. Time is money, after all. Besides, we don’t want too many people knowing the intricate secrets.

Most Internet Marketers are selling yesterday’s secrets at a cheap price. Why? Because someone (typically Google) made a change that destroyed the whole strategy months or even years ago.

You have to talk the talk to get in the know with what’s hot and what’s changing at the sites driving traffic to you. I’m in these groups. I’ve paid a lot of money for my education and spent inordinate amounts of time learning from others and making costly mistakes myself.

Here are the answers to the questions from above. These things change all the time, so these are just the best answers at the time you’re receiving this letter.

Answers

This stuff is vital to your business. If you didn’t know these things already, you need an expert to guide you through the complexities.

  1. A Squeeze Page is a linear web page with no external links. The entire purpose of the page is to funnel traffic onto an email list before giving them access to the rest of the site

    1. Good thing: Most people don’t buy on their first visit. In fact, it can take 5-7 communications from the business to get a sale.

    1. Bad thing: Google hates them and tends to give them poor page rank. Best not to rely on strategies Google and other search engines dislike.

  1. CPA stands for Cost Per Action. The advertiser pays a specific cost for each action taken such as making a purchase or generating a qualified lead. This means payments are more controlled because the advertiser is paying a portion of sale revenue only when sales are being generated.

  1. False. Generally speaking Google does not deliver what I’d call “massive” traffic unless you know exactly what you’re doing, and/or pay dearly for each click. With time a site can grow to get good results from Google, but there are many other means of generating traffic to supplement this one.

  1. The number one way to get organic results on Google, that is results that are part of a paid advertising campaign, is through posting Videos, primarily on YouTube.  Recall that Google just bought YouTube recently for over $1 billion. Some other ways include properly keywording the site and establishing quality backlinks to your site.

  1. While difficult, time consuming, and even dangerous to your reputation if done incorrectly, the best way to generate massive online traffic for free is to harness the power of ever-growing social media sites. Facebook alone generates more than 65 BILLION page views per month.

General web development and graphic design services are commonplace. Any high school kid can throw together your web site for you. But this isn’t an art contest, it’s an avenue for growing your business. You can’t go it alone with a book or get by using your nephew who just started taking a college web design class. You need a real expert.

The reality is that most Internet Marketers are full of hype and little else. They have a plan for you that they read in someone else’s book. They want to sell you and 999 other people a coaching program that’s so automated you’ll never get to really talk to them and ask questions.

I’m sure ad reps are calling you all the time wanting sell their advertising, not grow your business. But you need advertising on your terms, in the media most appropriate for your campaign.

My primary goal is to see my clients’ businesses grow. I’m most successful when you are achieving great business results.

For less than the price of a typical internet marketing program, I’m not only going to answer your questions, but my team is actually going to do much of the groundwork for you.

Why? Because I understand that you don’t have the time to do it. If I sold you and 999 others a fabricated, step-by-step coaching/education program I might make lots of money but give you no results. My reputation is worth more than that. I’m not looking for a one-shot sale.

I’m looking to build long-term relationships with successful businesses.

I want you to succeed, so I’m going to hold your hand through the first few steps (not literally, because that would be creepy).

But hey, if you think you can do it yourself, then I wish you the best of luck. Should you run into trouble feel free to ask me for help. I’ve seen several clients go against my advice, only to come back to me a couple of months later pleading that I fix costly mistakes other vendors made.

But if you’re ready to make the internet work for your business right now, then keep reading.

I’m going to give you the opportunity to learn what you need to know and get expert help for everything else. I’m going to do the hard parts for you… as much as you need, and I’m going to teach you how to maintain it all yourself, so you don’t have to pay experts constantly. That means you can get what you need on a fixed budget without worry of overruns.

I’m willing to work with you and your business individually to assess your current situation and the needs of your company. I want to help you understand how the Internet can really impact your bottom line.

Next I want to tell you what parts of your business we can put on cash-generating auto-pilot so you can relax on a beach somewhere drinking a daiquiri instead of slaving at your desk with a cup of cold coffee until 2am.

WARNING: There are some very dangerous techniques being utilized by certain companies for promoting web sites and generating traffic.

Black hat techniques, spamming, and other shortcuts can get you banned, anger consumers in droves, and destroy months or years of work in the blink of an eye.

These strategies are often termed “black hat” because they try to cheat the systems for ranking sites and generating traffic. Beware of these strategies and especially beware of offers that sound too good to be true and automated tools to increase your search engine rankings.

Black hat strategies will cause you to lose everything you’ve built the instant you get caught. And in today’s online arena, you will get caught eventually. If not by anyone else, then by your angry competition.

Google and popular web communities slap down spammers and those who violate their terms relentlessly. Typically the penalties they impose are very difficult to recover from.

On the same note, there are many companies offering cheap traffic to your site. This type of traffic is either unverifiable or very low quality foreign traffic that won’t ever convert to sales. The traffic often comes from nuisance applications (spyware) that won’t reflect well on your reputation if you do get a real potential customer.

Stick to what works, even if it takes time. I’ve tried some of the more innocuous shortcut methods and they don’t work. Stay on the conservative side and build value in your site instead of speed.

We’ve come a long a way in this letter and I appreciate you sticking with me this far. I promised you a tip on how to save money on Google AdWords, so here it is.

Pay Per Click (Google AdWords) Strategy

I could write an entire book on AdWords strategies (and I would be far from alone in doing so), but this is just a simple thing you should understand that could save you piles of cash. It applies to Yahoo and other PPC engines as well.

When you create an AdWords campaign you hope for a certain amount of traffic. Novices often become frustrated because they can’t obtain the traffic they hoped for within their budget. They assume it’s all because of advertiser competition and they end up raising their maximum cost per click (the most they’re willing to pay for each click to their web site).

Partly it is competition, but more often than not a quality campaign with the proper keywords will result in significantly cheaper cost per click rates. This means you can compete without paying several dollars per click and still get the traffic you need.

I should mention that if you start out correctly, you’ll do keyword research before you design your site and before you create and brand your products, so you’ll know the competition ahead of time and understand the market interest in what you plan to provide.

But aside from that, the trick is to ensure that your landing page (the page the prospective customer lands on first after clicking the ad) has a good keyword density for the keywords you’re paying for. In other words, make sure the keywords you want to capture appear in a relevant fashion several times in the text of your landing page, especially in prominent places such as the title, headings, and text toward the top of the page. This may mean having multiple landing pages for different keyword sets.

Likewise be sure that your keywords also appear in your ad text. AdWords highlights the keywords searched for, making them stand out. This lends instant relevance to the ad. Create multiple ad campaigns, segregating them by keyword, so you can be more specific in your ads. The most important thing is that all of the keywords you use are highly targeted and use negative keywords to eliminate unwanted traffic that won’t click your ad.

By getting your keywords distributed throughout the landing page and in the ad you will significantly increase keyword relevance for the ad and improve your click through rate (CTR). The higher your CTR is, the cheaper Google can run your ad and make money.

There are lots more tips for getting your CTR up and major strategies you can use once it’s above 2% or so. This is just meant to be a starting point.

At the beginning of the letter I mentioned that you could get started on your education for free. I’m offering a FREE class on establishing web presence called The Building Blocks of Web Presence. Get all the information you need to get started at this live event. Registration details are at the end of this letter, or you can go to www.WebPresencePower.com to register.

This class is for beginners and will give basic information on how to create a new web site and get traffic to it. We’ll go over the evolution of the web into today’s Web 2.0 mindset, plus basic terminology, strategies, and even get into some nitty gritty technical details such as how to create HTML and how the search engines work.

The reason I’m writing this letter to you is that I want to help you establish and monetize your web presence, but I realize you may not have all the information you need to make an informed decision about my services. I hope that this letter has at least begun that process. If not, I’d encourage you to attend this free class to get a better understanding of what I’m talking about.

Hold it!  This stuff is expensive, isn’t it? Yes it can be.

What if we gave you an outstanding starter offer AND taught you how to do it all in one package? You’d know the cost from the very beginning. Then you can understand what we’re doing and take control yourself later, or you can choose to have us or someone else manage your web presence after its built.

I’ll be frank with you, my time is very valuable to me, just as I’m sure yours is to you.

My customers have been consistently paying me between $100 and $400 per hour for my time since 1996, and all of them realize it’s a bargain when they see the final results. I have a great reputation in the industry and as a result I’ve never had to discount my hourly rates.

But instead of putting you on the hook for each hour spent, I’m going to give you specific options so that you know exactly what you’ll get in advance and how much it will cost. Then I’m going to offer you a huge discount for acting right away. AND I’m going to give you an iron-clad money back guarantee on the whole thing.

By the way, if you have no intention of ever doing this stuff yourself, then that’s fine too. I totally understand. I have other clients who prefer a more hands-off approach. I get the information from them and then I make things happen.

You or one of your staff members will need to work with me and my team to fully understand your business. Once we get the information we can take over the process ourselves without tying up too many of your resources.

At that point we can transition it over to you or your staff with the necessary knowledge, or we can continue to maintain it for you. It’s all up to you. I’m strict when it comes to quality and results, but flexible when it comes to the parameters of our relationship. I want something where we derive mutual benefit.

By the way, if you want to do it all yourself, I can help you there as well with my Advanced Web Presence Tactics and Strategies class.

Right now I’m running very special deals on Web Presence Packages and Classes. Whether you need a brand new site or a redesign/optimization of a current site, we can handle it. But it’s not about web design. It’s about monetizing that site to create revenue opportunities and automating pieces (where applicable) to put that revenue on autopilot.

Web Presence is all about creating prospects and closing sales. It’s not just about flashy billboard web sites that add nothing to your bottom line. My goal is for you to realize a 10x return on your investment in your first year using our strategies.

I’m including three additional options below, but feel free to call or email me for a custom quote on your specific needs (my contact information is at the end of this letter).

Iron-Clad 100% Money Back Guarantee

I want you to be thrilled with your new web presence, and I want your business to grow because of it. I want you to understand and be able to use all of the tools that will be linked to your web presence. This is no small task.

If you are dissatisfied for any reason, we will work to fix things for you. Please understand that every business is different and there are limitations on the scope of each project. We will clearly define these limits before we begin. In some situations where multiple revisions are necessary additional charges will apply, but they will be clearly stated before work begins.

If you still aren’t happy with our efforts simply let us know, stop making your progress payments, and move on. If that’s not good enough, just let me know before your second payment is due and I will gladly refund all of your money. Please understand that in the case of a refund you will not be entitled to use any work completed under the package, and all materials will become my exclusive property.

I’m taking on all of the risk. You’re going to get the site your business needs, or you’ll get your money back. It’s that simple.

One more thing. It is important to note that in each of the packages effort is required on your part or on the part of your employees. Your web presence will experience significant delays if we cannot obtain the resources we need from you in order to proceed with our part of the package.

This package includes everything most small businesses need to get started putting the Internet to work for them.

You may be thinking, “Can my business afford this?”

I would ask if your business can afford not to do it. Your competitors probably don’t know these strategies yet, and that’s good for you. Assuming they never learn these strategies, your competitors can still do significant damage to your business just by blindly throwing money at the problem. Stay several steps ahead of your competition by starting right now.

That brings up two other points… I know you’re probably getting sick of reading by now, and I sincerely appreciate your patience.

First, quality web sites take a long time to grow. There are aberrations when your site makes big news, manages to land on the front page of Digg or Slashdot, or you become a sudden hit in a niche social group. But generally speaking web sites grow over time until they suddenly gain traction and can explode.

The longer you wait, the longer all those potential customers must wait to find you, or else they have to settle for a competitor instead.

That brings up my final point. The package offers are limited. I will only take on a few managed packages and up to 10 assisted packages each month. So if you aren’t one of the first ten people to respond, you’ll get put on a waiting list. I can’t say how long that list will be, so get your registration in right away.

Also, I can’t in good conscience take on two direct competitors simultaneously for either package. Whichever competitor comes to me first will get my help. If you’re too late I won’t be able to help you and will have to refund your money. You can still attend either of the classes.

Thanks a million for taking the time to read this. Even if you decided not to come to my free class or to take advantage of my special offers, I truly appreciate you spending the time to read this letter. I hope you at least got something out of it.

Best of Luck,

  Jeff

P.P.S Check out what some of my customers are saying about our services.

Gary Berger – Baltimore Martial Arts Academy - www.baltimoremartialarts.com

“Jeff and his company completely rebuilt our site from scratch, and he manages our entire internet marketing campaign. Since Jeff took over we’ve seen our online lead generation quickly surpass offline methods (telephone book, newspapers, etc). In fact, I’d say we get 80% or more of our leads from our web site.

Today we’re winning the #1 spot on Google AND the #2 spot with an indented listing. We’re also able to affordably maintain the top positions in sponsored links. Our email list continues to convert customers we would have lost otherwise, and it has extremely low opt-out rates.

I’m very happy with the service he’s provided and would recommend him to any business looking to establish a web presence.”

Dr. Steven L. Silverston – Silverston Family Chiropractic - www.drsilverston.com

“We went from nothing online to having a quality site that actually pulls in new patients. Jeff has handled the entire operation and continues to manage it. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone looking to build their business through the internet.”

John Gladstein –MedicalDeviceDepot.com

“As with most new business owners, I was reluctant at first to spend money on outside web promotion services. But I can say without Jeff’s experience and guidance I would have wasted a lot of money on services and methods that don’t deliver. He knows what he’s talking about when it comes to Internet Marketing. I highly recommend his services.”
