Mims Internet Media Sites
Mims Internet Media Sites (Media Operations) was founded with the company in 2006 in order to complete the development and launch of
two web ventures originally created by entrepreneur Jeffrey Mims in early 2004.
Media Operations currently owns and operates a portfolio of over forty-five proprietary web properties across a wide variety of industries,
totalling over one million pages of internet content and over 500k unique visitors per month (~2M page views). We own a great deal of intellectual property in the
internet marketing field, including software designs/code, brand and domain names, proprietary content in several media, and comprehensive training programs.
In 2010 our Media Operations group turned the corner on consistent profitability from advertising revenue, and as a result
we shut down our internet marketing consulting division, Maryland Internet Marketing Solutions, instead shifting those resources to our
internal projects. Our technical consulting unit still exists to deliver software development and IT project management services, but we terminated
SEO, PPC, Conversion Optimization and all other marketing services for new clients.
Leveraging relationships with over 200 advertisers through our Adization™ custom tool, along with Google®, AdBrite, and other ad delivery companies,
we were able to generate profit through combined revenue of information product sales, membership fees, affiliate commissions and advertising revenue.
In Q3 2010 Media Operations spent considerable time promoting our flagship fitness site, generating an average of 14.5k unique visitors per day, with a daily peak of 89k (335k page views).
Our online magazine site generated a peak of over 3500 unique visitors per day during the same quarter. Additional work was performed on sites in the financial market, B2B services, and medical uniforms/equipment.
At the end of Q2 and beginning of Q3 Media Operations experienced considerable problems with ad vendors and payment collection companies. We were forced to terminate relationships with a number of companies and revamp several processes.
During this time we discontinued further work on several affiliate marketing sites and relied solely on automation, as changes were distracting from the primary business.
In November of 2010 we were forced to terminate our relationship with Google® and explore legal action against them to recover thousands of dollars in advertising revenue. At the time, Google was the primary source of revenue for Media Operations.
As we worked to survive the massive cash flow crunch that resulted from the unscrupulous and unexplained actions of Google®, we were deeply saddened by the death of Mims Innovations COO J. Michael Mims.
These combined factors led us to halt investment on most Media Operations projects, turning once again to our automation technologies to keep most sites running without interruption.
